Currently we have a vacancy available for a Total Loss Officer to join an established team based in Brisbane. Your role will be to pro-actively settle claims within strict company guidelines, policies and relevant legislation. As well as actively looking for opportunities that improve claims processes, the work environment, and provide exceptional customer service.

Your key responsibilities will include – but will not be limited to:

• Settling claims within company guidelines, policy interpretations and service level agreements
• Accurate interpretation of product disclosure statements
• Updating customers and stake holders on the status of a claim on regular basis
• Ensuring objectivity is maintained in each situation by basing claims decisions on the factual information available
• Discussing settlements with insured and third parties
• Accurately interpreting product disclosure statements
• Identify potential fraudulent matters, possible indemnity issues, recovery issues, and issues outside delegated levels of authority and refer appropriately
• Updating of systems to indicate action taken and next action required
• Building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be self motivated and will have proven success in a similar role. Along with excellent communication skills, have a high level of attention to detail and ability to achieve results. As well as:

• Previous experience in a relevant claims handling role – Ideal
• Problem solving and proven decision making skills
• Experience in a high level Customer Service role
• Tertiary qualified in Business or Insurance related discipline - highly regarded.
