Customer Relations Specialist

The Customer Relations department in Melbourne is looking for a Customer Relations Specialist to join the General Insurance team. We have a 12-month max term contract opportunity.

The Customer Relations team is committed to continuously improving the quality of our customers’ experiences, partnering with our colleagues to actively respond to customer complaints (disputes) and using their feedback to turn negative customer experiences into positive ones and advocate for our customers to fix pain points and improve their experience.

As part of the team you will work with energetic and motivated people who aim to deliver consistent decisions and results, year after year, for all our stakeholders including customers, whilst delivering exemplary customer service as we help people build and protect their dreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the investigation and response to customer’s verbal and written complaints/disputes and compliments aligned to both business and customer requirements
  • Ensuring that all communication meets General Insurance Code of Practice compliance, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with multiple lines of business including Group Legal, Corporate Affairs and other stakeholders
  • Ensure disputes are managed in a timely fashion
  • Provide exemplary customer service


Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 12-18 months in a general insurance claim or product role.
  • Proven problem solving, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills
  • High level of resilience
  • To be comfortable resolving issues as they arise
  • To be comfortable with lots of 'structure' and 'process'
  • The flexibility to work equally well alone or within a team
