Manager Performance & Governance

  • Leadership position within Personal Injury Claims

The Role

As the Manager Performance & Governance, you will lead a high-performing team within Personal Injury Claims to deliver exceptional claims and injury management under the CTP, Workers Compensation and Life Insurance schemes in which we operate across Australia. Supported by your team, you will focus on best practice quality assurance frameworks,  driving business performance and procedural governance within the schemes and with our third-party providers. This is a key role supporting the claims management capability of Personal Injury Claims.

The Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Manager – Personal Injury Claims Management Capability, you will be required to:

  • Lead the Performance and Governance team to design and deliver best practice quality assurance, business performance management, supplier management and procedural governance
  • Manage the Third-Party Provider Panel, maintain relationships and deliver quality control and performance management over arrangements
  • Manage performance improvement and capability framework to address identified quality assurance issues and drive improved quality outcomes
  • Procedural governance to ensure high quality procedures across all schemes and compliance with relevant regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Work with the stakeholders internally and externally to review outcomes and identify trends to deliver industry leading claims performance, claim cost and customer outcomes
  • Seek continuous improvement through analysis of data and reports to identify trends to drive an improvement in performance, cost and productivity
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and claims management strategies to achieve cost and customer satisfaction improvements
  • Support and encourage the claims teams to engender a high-performance culture and commitment to goal achievement
  • Lead by example by actively participating in team meetings and activities

The Requirements

  • Degree in Law, Business, Commerce or related field – Desired
  • Personal Injury Claims Experience of 3 – 5 years – Preferred
  • Major Project Management / Stakeholder Influence – Strongly Desired
  • Advanced critical thinking with the ability to analyse situations accurately and make effective decisions;
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capability, demonstrated ability to build and maintain engaged and empowered teams
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor others to build technical knowledge and expertise
