Manager Solutions Design

  • Lead a team of specialists to create and test solutions that will drive innovative change in the health and wellbeing of our customers
  • A permanent first line leader role reporting into the Executive Manager, Personal Injury Initiatives
  • Brisbane or Sydney location

The Manager Solutions Design role involves designing solutions which will enable successful implementation of strategic initiatives across the Personal Injury Claims (PIC) schemes.  The objective of the Manager, Solutions Design is to lead and challenge a high performing team of specialists to develop and test innovative and robust solutions that enable the delivery of the PIC strategy and the ongoing Optimisation of the Function

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Translating the PIC strategies into a program of work for the Solutions Design team
  • Working closely with the PIC leadership team to prioritise, identify benefit realisation and govern the initiatives for solution design and testing to ensure delivery of the PIC strategy
  • Collaborating with Team Leaders and Managers within PIC, as well as other ideation and innovation teams within Insurance to identify opportunities to influence strategy
  • Designing and delivering solutions which ensure the claims areas are able to effectively deliver against current financial objectives, while meeting or exceeding the needs of our customers
  • Overseeing team-based problem solving to determine root causes for business problems, applying Suncorp’s adapted Lean problem-solving protocols
  • Leading awareness efforts around emerging market trends and opportunities and recommend innovative solutions, where appropriate, for business problems
  • Ensuring a customer experience focus is incorporated in project processes and solutions.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Solid commercial experience in insurance or financial services is mandatory
  • Strong Leadership experience and the ability to harness information and to motivate and inspire team
  • Committed to increasing customer experience and delivery high quality solutions within required timeframes
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Centric Design, Innovation delivery, Business improvement and / or Strategy within the Insurance Industry. Preferably within Personal Injury Insurance products and claims
  • Experience in strategy and design and change – design or implementation roles driving change facilitation / dialogue with EM/EGM level audience
  • Business knowledge and context of Workers Compensation and/or CTP claims handling
  • Knowledge of Rehabilitation in other Australian States &/or Statutory Schemes
  • Experience in driving medium to large scale change initiatives as a sponsor or accountable leader.
