Executive Manager, Personal Injury Claims ACT & TAS

The Role

The role of Executive Manager, Personal Injury Claims exists to transform and improve claims handling and operational results for the schemes operating within their State/s. For this role, this includes: ACT and Tasmania WC Underwritten. As we emerge in to new markets the role accountability will broaden to include new business areas.

The role will lead a team that delivers to the Personal Injury Claims strategy and will execute a program of work focussed on growing the Personal Injury Claims business by better meeting customer needs, sharing best practice, leveraging our scale and creating personal injury professionals for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the national claims strategies to reduce both the overall claims liability and operational expense position of the team.
  • Execute a program of work focussed on growing the Personal Injury Claims business.
  • Contribute to the development of the Personal Injury Claims strategic roadmap and work collaboratively with the Personal Injury Claims leadership team in the achievement of the strategy.
  • Development and management of budgets, ensuring a focus on short, medium and long-term profitability.
  • Act as a point of escalation to influence outcomes that will support the team and the division to achieve its goals and objectives.
  • Sponsor change and support key initiatives as they rolled out with the claims business.
  • Provide input to the claims design process.
  • Maintain focus on income and profitability within schemes.
  • Ensure corporate compliance within the schemes.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Medical or Allied Health
  • Extensive commercial experience in insurance or financial services.
  • Proven leadership experience within insurance claims
  • Strong knowledge of insurance lifecycle and specifically Personal injury market and future trends
