DevOps Engineer

Technology Data & Labs (TDL) aspires to create experiences our customers value, while providing best in class technology, advice and services to enable insights across Suncorp.

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing team and become part of this exciting journey; delivery of our digital marketplace.

The role of DevOps Engineer exists to work collaboratively with our development teams to deploy and operate our systems, streamlining operations and processes. You will build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, testing and production environments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build, test and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for various types of development including mobile.
  • Build, test and maintain tools for development, delivery, deployment, monitoring and operational support.
  • Identify technical improvements that will benefit our customers and our staff.
  • Provide input to, or develop business systems solutions, estimates and specifications.
  • Promote continuous improvement through involvement in review processes and demonstration of individual leadership skills.
  • Formulate and recommend changes and/ or enhancements to Suncorp standard processes.

Key Capabilities

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology; or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum  5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience supporting high availability production systems.

Technical Capabilities

  • Experience with CI and CD setup and management.
  • Experience in scripting (bash/shell etc).
  • Experience in identifying and building automation opportunities.
  • Either a strong software development or Linux system administration background.
  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
  • Experience with either iOS or Android software development.
  • Experience in administration of AWS.
