Portfolio Advisor

  • Support the planning, supply management and prioritisation of Suncorp’s Enterprise Project Portfolio
  • Support the annual business planning process
  • Brisbane or Sydney based


Program Excellence provides oversight for the planning, funding and resourcing of Suncorp’s Group Project Portfolio, supporting Suncorp’s vison of delivering a financial services marketplace

The Role

This role supports the planning and prioritisation of Suncorp’s Enterprise Project Portfolio, supporting decision making through accurate and insightful portfolio monitoring, ensuring alignment to Group strategy and priorities within agreed resourcing and financial constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the prioritisation and scheduling of initiatives to ensure clarity and effective assessment of costs, benefits, risks and dependencies at a program and portfolio level.
  • Collaborate across Suncorp and build strong relationships within the functional areas to enable effective prioritisation and scheduling of projects.
  • Maintain a forward view of project resourcing (demand versus capacity) to enable effective resource planning and scheduling across the project portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Portfolio Prioritisation framework and relevant processes.
  • In collaboration with Functions, undertake critical analysis of project business cases for quality assurance and to ensure robust from a cost and value perspective
  • Active monitoring of Suncorp’s Enterprise Project Portfolio to foresee prioritisation and scheduling issues and recommended best action
  • Support the annual business planning process.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology and/or Business or equivalent industry experience (Desired)
  • Qualification in Project Management (Desired)
  • Minimum 5+ years industry experience
  • Minimum 3+ years working as part of a project team
  • Sound knowledge of Project Governance methods
  • Commercial Acumen: Applying knowledge of internal and external business environments to consider the bottom-line impact of alternative solutions; maximising benefits whilst balancing risks
  • Proven experience working within a high pressured environment adhering to strict deadlines
