Senior Collections Officer

The Role

The Retail Recovery team at Suncorp Bank are currently seeking a Senior Collections Officer. Based in Brisbane, this role will be responsible for applying the recovery process to high risk customers to ensure effective arrears recovery and account normalisation.

Reporting to the Leader, Late Stage Portfolio you will manage a portfolio of high risk customers and will be responsible for determining remediation strategies for delinquent accounts.

You will also be responsible for:

  • The extraction of budgetary information from customers to assessment and confirm repayment arrangements
  • Determining the most appropriate course of action for the recovery of customer arrears
  • Issuing statutory notices,  liaising with insolvency administrators and instructing agents to conduct field calls
  • Conducting all collection activity within the bounds of the relevant legislation whilst providing high levels of service to meet customer expectations.

The Requirements

To ensure success in this role you will require strong communication skills to enable you to convey information to customers confidently and coherently.  You will have demonstrated conflict management experience along with strong negotiation skills to ensure mutually acceptable outcomes with stakeholders are reached.

You will also possess the following:

  • Proven Recoveries/Collections experience in late stage collections including an understanding of regulatory frameworks and legal constraints
  • An understanding of banking and financial industry principles and regulations
  • A Business degree or demonstration of working towards a tertiary qualification
  • Industry experience preferably within a Financial Services environment.
