Senior PMO Officer

Senior PMO Officer – Real Estate

The Opportunity

Reporting to the PMO Advisor, the Senior PMO Officer plays a significant role in the planning and governance of the Real Estate projects portfolio. The primary objectives of the role are to manage and report on the project portfolio finances; act as subject matter expert on Real Estate’s project delivery framework, project delivery approaches and preferred partner contractual arrangements; and ensure adherence to all agreed internal processes and practices

Key responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the role will fall into Portfolio Management, Reporting and Project Delivery functions:

Portfolio Management & Reporting

  • Understudy the PMO Advisor and provide coverage of that role when the incumbent is on leave
  • Subject matter expert on Real Estate project delivery framework, project delivery approaches and preferred partner contractual arrangements
  • Onboarding of all new internal and external project team members
  • Delivery of assigned PMO Uplift and Project Excellence initiatives 
  • End to end facilitation of the project Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecast and EOFY financial processes
  • Quality assurance over the operational Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecast and EFOY financial processes
  • Management of the capital expenditure work-in-progress balance within acceptable levels 
  • Monthly project cost centre variance analysis and commentary
  • Design and provision of agreed project portfolio reporting on a cyclical basis
  • Assistance with preparation of required consultant engagement documentation
  • Quality assurance over provided approvals, contract order forms, purchase order requests, cost workbooks and other documentation
  • Submission of monthly project accruals in accordance with Suncorp Accounting Policy
  • Provision of capital vs operational expenditure advice on disputed cost workbook line items
  • Assistance with preparation of project status reporting
  • Financial review of completed project closure packs 

Required qualifications/ experience: 

  • Tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in Finance, Business, Project Management or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in a Finance, Corporate Real Estate or Project Management position
  • Knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards as they apply to property
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques, specifically Agile & PMBOK
  • Knowledge of performance improvement tools and techniques, specifically Lean
  • Ability to prepare financial models and cashflow/ project & loss variance summaries
