Delivery Manager - IT Service Management

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated, structured leader who wants to make a difference and take a team of highly skilled IT professionals to the next level. If you are driven and love to achieve results, then this is the role for you.  You will grow in your leadership skills working in a dynamic environment and be exposed to a vast array of experiences.  You will have the opportunity to raise your profile as a member of the wider IT leadership team performing a pivotal role working across all Suncorp’s application and infrastructure technology teams. 

As the Delivery Manager for the ITSM team, you will be responsible for ensuring your team delivers high quality services to our internal customers in the areas of Change Management, Release Management, Problem Management, Incident Management, Critical Incident Management, Configuration Management, Disaster Recovery Management, Knowledge Management, Availability and Service Level Reporting.

Key responsibilities of the role will include

  • Leading all 24x7 critical incident events to a successful service restoration.
  • Affecting the adoption, implementation and assurance of uniform IT Service Management process usage across all technology teams.
  • Operation of Suncorp’s technology Change Advisory Board.
  • Driving Suncorp’s Problem Management capability to reduce systemic incident trends and improve the customer experience.
  • Expansion and maintenance of Suncorp’s technology Configuration Management Database.
  • Execution of the annual Disaster Recovery program of work to ensure Suncorp’s technology continuity plans are effective.
  • Provide technical advice and thought leadership to senior management and internal customers with a view to influence strategy aligning the delivery of technical solutions that drives innovation through business outcomes.
  • Work closely with other leaders and Project Managers to deliver initiatives utilising appropriate structured methodologies.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and professional development opportunities to ensure all team members are growing in line with their career development goals.
  • Manage team operations, including portfolio planning, resource workload, financial governance, processes, procedures and risk management.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess the following

  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology discipline(mandatory).
  • Tertiary Qualification in Management discipline (desirable).
  • At least ten (10) years experience in the IT industry (mandatory).
  • At least ten (10) years experience in leading a technology team (mandatory).
  • At least five (5) years experience in IT Operations or IT Service Management or IT Platform Management in a large corporation (mandatory).
  • Excellent knowledge/experience in the ITIL framework.
  • Excellent knowledge/experience in IT delivery methodologies and/or project management.
  • Proven capability in driving the strategic direction of a technology team.
