Commercial Assessing Specialist

The Role:

The Commercial Assessing Specialist role is accountable for the technical coaching and development of the Internal Commercial Assessors in each region including management of the Quality Audit (QA) and file reviews of both Internally and Externally assessed claims.

The role is accountable for the provision of technical expertise across all operational PSC claims teams regarding the application of Assessing practices along with the establishment of industry best practice om assessed claims management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Audit and quality oversight of the Commercial Assessing team.
  • Audit of external loss adjusting firms’ adherence to SLAs and customer service metrics.
  • Management of audit plans and recommendations to ensure assessing standards are applied according to communications and training.
  • Coach and support the regional claims management teams and technical officers on assessing processes, including process updates and change management activities.
  • Attend industry events, conferences and workshops to maintain a strong understanding on assessing and loss adjusting best practice.
  • Facilitate assessing standards workshops on a regular basis to drive improved delivery of assessing services.
  • Gather and accurately record information about training, knowledge gaps, PDS anomalies, and process, procedure and tool improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical operational business support including input to proposed technical changes, and PDS changes.
  • Contribute to operational activities within the Assessing and Repair team. 

Required qualifications/experience:

  • Completed ANZIIF studies (Diploma of Loss Adjusting) or currently studying
  • 5 years commercial claims experience
  • Clear understanding of Suncorp processes and claims systems
  • Degree in business, commerce or related field – Desired
  • Completion of a relevant trade or industry certification – Desired
