Claims Advisor - Income Protection

The Role

The Personal Injury Life Claims team currently have an exciting opportunity for the right life claims professional, wanting to develop their case management skills, to step into a Claims Advisor role, managing a portfolio of Retail Income Protection Life Claims.

This busy and varied role will see you managing a portfolio of Income protection claims investigating the liability situation, gathering and analysing medical and rehabilitation data, and managing the relationship with the claimant and their representative.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include:

  • Managing a portfolio of Retail IP claims
  • Obtaining and reviewing medical, financial, investigative and rehabilitation reports to assist in the accurate assessment of individual claims
  • Ensuring Policy wording is applied correctly during the life of the claim
  • Ensuring appropriate strategies are formulated and implemented to resolve claims efficiently and effectively
  • Ensuring timely access to appropriate rehabilitation so that injured claimants can achieve optimal recovery from their injuries and sustainable return to work opportunities
  • Providing an excellent level of customer service to the Financial Advisor, Claimant and/or their personal representative

The Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous income protection claims experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to listen, build rapport, communicate complex information and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders including claimants, third party providers, external bodies and internal teams
  • Strong administrative and written skills and the ability to effectively manage all aspects of each claim whilst complying with   policy terms and conditions
  • Strong commitment and a high degree of integrity to help meet and exceed customer expectations
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to workplace improvement and changes
