Investigations Review Officer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Investigation Review Officer to join our Insurance team. We have multiple positions available on a 12 month contract in our Melbourne office. The role involves the investigation, coordination and management of suspected fraudulent claims to minimise claims costs and reduce any possible exposure to fraudulent activity.

Key responsibilities will include – but will not be limited to:

  • Conducting telephone recorded interviews, completing relevant searches, requesting supporting documents and conducting other enquiries to determine the legitimacy of claims referred to Investigations.
  • Analysing information obtained accordingly
  • Providing clear specific instructions to External Investigators to conduct further enquiries and report back on findings to enable correct decisions to be made in a timely manner
  • Documenting claim decisions and notifying customers of those decisions in writing
  • Making appropriate decisions on claims taking into account all relevant information available
  • Building relationships and liaising with external authorities and law enforcement agencies to make relevant enquiries and referrals
  • Working closely with stakeholders to ensure and promote strong working relationships

The successful candidates will have exceptional customer service, administrative skills with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and great time management skills. IROs need to be comfortable with the Suncorp Group's various systems, have a proven background in the area of concise reporting, great negotiation skills and a background that demonstrates your ability to manage a variety of stakeholders.

Candidates will be shortlisted against the following criteria; therefore you must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Exceptional customer focus – internal and external
  • Knowledge of Insurance Contracts Act and General Insurance Code of Practice highly regarded
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • High level organisational and time management skills
  • Analytical thinking
